Ross & Elena's beautiful Cumbrian Wedding - Part Two
Comments (1)
Ross & Elena were already legally married when they had their church blessing and reception at St Cuthberts Church and the Tithebarn, Carlisle. This made things a little different than a regular wedding in that they got ready together at home, travelled to the church together and walked each other down the aisle! They had done the legal bit at Penrith Town Hall earlier on that week, I also photographed that wedding and you can see some of the images here.
I arrived fairly early at the Tithebarn to take some shots of the room set out for the reception. Ross & Elena had been there the day before with both families and some friends helping to get it ready. It was full of personal touches as they had handmade pretty much everything themselves. Vanya, Ross' Mum had painted mountains for all the table names, Ross & Elena had handmade chocolate truffles and chilli dipping sauce for their friends to take home. Everything looked so beautiful.
Then off to Penrith to meet the girls at the hairdressers, followed by the wedding preparations at their home. They had a little time together at home before setting off to the church in a rather nice silver Bentley. The service was lovely and the church was stunning. Then it was only a few steps away to the reception. It was beautiful hot and bright sunny day and the guests enjoyed canapes in the garden before the speeches and their meal provided by Monkey Tree caterers.
The evening reception featured a ceilidh and a photo booth! I really enjoyed being a part of this wedding, both families were so welcoming towards me and Ross & Elena are a fabulous couple who never stop smiling and having a laugh together. Here are some of my favourite images that tell the story of their day.
